Speech-Language Pathologist

About Karen
Karen is a bilingual (English-French) Speech-Language Pathologist, experienced in working with a range of speech-language pathology client populations. She has experience working with both adults and children in a variety of settings and service delivery models, with a particular focus on community rehab. Karen believes in using an interprofessional approach in her work, and makes a point of collaborating with other professionals (including occupational and physical therapists, audiologists, doctors, etc.) in order to ensure the appropriateness and consistency of her clients' goals. Karen works collaboratively with her clients and their families to help them achieve their communication goals in a manner that is consistent with their values and individual needs. Her goal is to not only be an advocate for her clients, but to help them advocate for themselves.
In addition to her clinical practice, Karen works with the Aphasia Centre of Ottawa, offering individual SLP services to clients in both their stroke and primary progressive aphasia programs, and at The Ottawa Hospital.

Karen is a registered member of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO #6339) and Speech-Language Audiology Canada (SAC).
